My GHD iron is making a buzzing noise when I plug it in?

Yesterday I just plugged it in and it started making a very loud buzzing noise. I paid $216 for it and i've only had it for 5 months. What could be causing this buzzing noise? I want to be careful when wording what's wrong w/it when I send it back to the company because they won't fix irons damaged by misuse.
